Googly Bands Halloween Trick Bag { Review }

Since I'm on the subject of Halloween. Googly Bands sent us the new Halloween Trick bag. There just in time for trick-or-treaters! My fav are the glow-in-the-dark ones. Bubbie is actually more into these bands than Sissy! He picked out a couple of the bags and had been wearing these ever since I helped him opened the bag. The individual pack have 3 bands in a bag. There's a total of 18 bags!

If you haven't seen these around, the Googly Bands are stretchable, bendable silicone bands that bounce back to its original shapes that are wearable. All lot of kids in our neighborhood wear them! These are appropriate for ages 4 and up.

Jason to a Bee...

Halloween is my hubby's favorite holiday! My 4yo son thought he wanted to be Jason, of all things!  Hubby had decorated the front porch with the Jason figure last year. He's been actually obsessing about it since then. Hubby took him  tried to take him and Sissy to the Halloween Store this weekend. Bubbie started freaking out! He wouldn't...couldn't even make it inside. Hubby tried a couple of times before calling it quits.I'm a little glad. I didn't really wanted him dressed as Jason.

Now he want to be a bumblebee!

or is it this...

An award!

Cee from Smookie Style recently pass this award on to me. I also would like to thank Danyale from Evoluchuns who gave me the award awhile back and I didn't get a chance to blog about it :(

Rules for the award:
* Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.
* Share 7 things about yourself.
* Pass the award along to 15 other bloggers who you recently discovered and think are fabulous.
* Contact the bloggers you chose and let them know about the award.

Seven things about myself:
1.  I come from a big family. I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
2.  Even bigger, I have 14 nephews and nieces.
3.  I love all veggies except brussel sprouts!
4.  I love to read books but I rarely get a chance. I'm reading Harry Potter to Sissy (sometimes Bubbie's there, I think to delay his bedtime).  I'm probably just reading it out loud to myself :)
5.  I'm planning a trip to Disney World, our first family trip,  in February. It will be my first time there and the kids, too, of course!
6.  I'm not a morning person. I don't think I would like working the dayshift! If only I could wake up at 9...
7.  I love to eat. Sushi, lobster, cheesecake, etc... My pantry is full of snacks, at least they are { mostly } healthy! You wouldn't think it if you met me in person.

Some new and old blog that I nominate are:

A Bump In My Cleaning...Literally!

For some reason I was in the mood to start clearing out tons of papers that I just collected and thought that I needed, mostly work and product manuals. While I was doing that, BabyGirl ran into a wall post, probably the edge! I thought nothing of it since Bubbie likes to bother and tease her.

To my surprise, when I went to see her, she had a big knot on her forhead! The pic was actually taken a few hours after it had happen. My poor girl...This all happened a couple of days ago!

I went to class for work early today and had just gotten home. She looks like a totally different person! The bruising is getting darker and her forhead and upper part of her nose is still swollen.

It is non-toxic, environmentally safe and contains no phosphates, dyes, perfumes, or fillers.

I use the Powdered Laundry Detergent with the Oxygen Bleach Destainer and Deodorizer to clean my cloth diapers! I also do an extra rinse. I have a few that are already stained that I was unable to get out completely. Thank goodness, she is mostly potty-trained. We're still working on nighttime dryness.

    • Warm-Up Jacket Female
    • Warm-Up Jacket Male

I received the Flare Leg Scrub Pants in Hunter Green to faciliate this review. This pants retail for $12.95. The website showed 'Waistband: Full elastic' but I noticed from the picture that it also has string ties around the front. This caught my attention. The scrub pants was comfy but a little roomy still in the leg, even for an XS for me. The waist was perfect because I could adjust to where I wanted it! I like the Blend. I'm not too fond of cotton for scrubs because it comes out of the dryer all wrinkled. I don't have the same problem for polyester, so I like the Blend combo! I also like that each product as a description (below), a sketch (right above), and sizing chart all on the same page for convenience!

I didn't like that the prices didn't show up on the product pages. To get the prices, you would Add To Cart to view them. Not too hard to do! I would have liked to see the product pictures changed when you clicked on the Color tab.

    Fabric: 4-1/4 oz poplin
    Blend: 65% polyester/35% combed cotton
    Finish: Pre-cure durable press
    Waistband: Full elastic
    Pockets: 2 Side set-in..
Other Details: Colors coordinate with other scrub apparel.

If you didn't see anything there, you can also find other nursing items at their eBay Store.

Thank you Taylor Nursing Scrubs for letting me review the product. I received it at no-cost to facilitate this review.  I would like to give a shout-out to Dina at Just Another New Blog for providing me info for their review opportunity. She also host giveaways on her blog so be sure to check her out!

    **CLOSED** Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies { Review & Giveaway }

Congratulations to Dina at Just Another New Blog!

My kids absolutely love these,  Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies. We had review the Fiber Gummies previously, so they were excited to "try them" again! They were tasty and very soft which I didn't really expect the first time I had tried it. Sissy said, "They tasted very sweet and soft". They are sugar-free, zero calories from Xylitol, a sweetener substitute that may also reduce the risk of cavities.
    • Fiber helps promote regularity*
    • 1.5 grams of fiber per gummy
    • Source of fiber: Polydextrose
    • Penguin-shaped gummies deliver fiber in a chewable, kid-friendly form
    • Great tasting, all natural fruit flavors
    • Easy to incorporate into daily routine
    • This product is not a laxative
    • Supplement Facts
    • Dentist approved
Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies is recommended for kids ages 2-11 and recent recipient of the PTPA Seal of Approval for excellence in family products. Visit Brown Bag Boredom Buster  for ideas in packing lunches! Sissy is definitely a picky-eater. She likes her turkey sandwich (on whole wheat). We gradually did the change to whole wheat. Now that's all I try to buy. Sometimes, it's a hit. Other times, it's a miss but eventually I would be able to find something! Now it's a norm. Even switching brand can have them turn their noses up!

    SIX TRICKS FOR MORE FIBER

The AAP now recommends kids ages 2-3 years eat 19 grams of fiber per day and even kids 4-8 yrs. old need 25 grams of fiber a day! With these new guidelines it’s no wonder that research shows 90% of kids don’t get enough fiber in their daily diets. Liz Weiss, Top Dietitian, Offers Six Quick Mealtime Tricks at Six Grams of Fiber Each (36 Total Grams Daily!)

A new survey conducted for Pedia-Lax® Fiber Gummies (http://www.fibergummies.com/) , a tasty, daily fiber supplement for kids’ ages 2-11, finds that 52% of moms say their kids aren’t eating enough fruits, vegetables or fiber-rich foods, and a whopping 90% of children don’t get enough fiber daily.

“High-fiber foods aren’t the ones children typically gravitate to even when moms put them on the plate,” says Liz Weiss, registered dietitian and co-author of The Moms’ Guide to Meal Makeovers. “I suggest parents dress up fiber in appealing packages to make it a win-win for moms and kids.”

Below, Weiss offers six tricks for adding extra fiber to kids’ diets. Each provides at least six grams of additional fiber:

Go with Guacamole: Kids love to dunk foods, so introduce a new dip. Create a kid-friendly guacamole by combining at least ¾ of a mashed, ripe avocado with some coarsely chopped fresh cilantro and a dash of freshly-squeezed lime juice.  Offer sliced raw veggies or whole-grain tortilla chips on the side for even more fiber grams!

Fiberlicious French Toast: Many kids shy away from “brown bread,” but if you disguise it as something else, you can easily add more fiber at the start of the day.  Make French toast by switching from traditional white bread to 100% whole wheat bread, and top with ¼ cup of naturally-sweet fresh strawberries or try a sliced banana for a few more grams of fiber (complete recipe at http://www.mealmakeovermoms.com/).

Penguin Power: Boost your child’s fiber (age 2-11) with Pedia-Lax® Fiber Gummies; just three delicious, penguin-shaped gummies add 6 grams of fiber to your child's daily diet. They can be taken together or given one per meal.

Makeover Delight:Meatloaf is a staple on most family dinner menus. Take your favorite meatloaf recipe and upgrade it with more fiber by adding 1/3 cup of ground flaxseed, one shredded carrot and a 15 oz. can of drained black beans (complete recipe at http://www.mealmakeovermoms.com/). Your delicious meatloaf just got better!

An Apple A Day: Parents tend to peel apples, but leaving the skin on a medium sized apple and slicing it up for easy eating keeps it to five grams of fiber. Add a tablespoon of peanut butter on the edges (if kids balk at the peel) for an extra gram of fiber.

Smooth it Over:  Choose a fiber-rich yogurt with at least 5 grams of fiber and blend with your favorite fruit. The enriched yogurt alone is a great fiber source, but the fruit adds even more.

Buy it: Retail for about $7.99 for a bottle of 60 gummies; available at a retail stores or online. Click here for the $1.00 off coupon. Or try to Win It!

Win it (Mandatory entry): Visit Pedia-Lax and let me know where you can get them in your area. This giveaway will end on September  at 1159PM CST. Giveaway is available only in the U.S. Winners will have 72 hrs to respond or another winner will be picked.
