Interested in finding a new bottle warmer that is eco-friendly and on-the-go. Look no further. On The Fly is a portable bottle warmer that needs no electricity and is made of all natural materials (iron powder, water, activated carbon, wood, powder and salt). It comes in this cute package with a handle:
I received the black-and-white cow design that has the two-layered stretch fabric-like sock. The warmer will last up to 8 hours and warming temperature will not reach higher than 104° F. It does take about 30 minutes for the warmer to reach peak temperature. So, plan accordingly! The warmer is actually self-activated by AIR! How cool is that! As with all baby products make sure you check the milk before giving it to your little one! The best way to check the milk is on the inside of your wrist with a few drops from the nipple .
If you are pumping breastmilk, the instruction says to consult your doctor with the use of breastmilk. I know that breastmilk is not supposed to be warmed at a very hot temperature. It will destroy the lipase enzyme that breaks down milk fats. La Leche League International talks a little about it under "How to Warm the Milk". I couldn't find exactly what fresh breastmilk temperature was but I know that normal body temperature is 98.6° F.
I received the large starter kit of One The Fly warmer and experiment with it. The instruction says not to use it with Playtex liners due to the liners not actually touching the warmer in the socks. (And that's the only bottles I use.) It will never warm up that way. I've tried it and confirm that it will not work .

I had brought some breastmilk storage with my Playtex liners. It was easier and quicker for me to pump and freeze the milk this way. I like saving a few extra steps! Anything to make it easier with a new baby in the home but that seems like ages. Now I was able to use On The Fly with my Playtex bottle. I just twist the bottle into the ring. No mess. No fuss. Well, maybe, the baby. Just grab your On The Fly warmer and sock for on-the-go convience

Kaskey Kids sent us the Hockey Guys for the review. Bubbie actually picked it himself! He was so excited when it came! Baby Girl also wanted to join in the fun. She actually grabbed a couple of pieces for herself!

I finally got my comments to number correctly. I've been tinkering with the edit html from layout yesterday and now it is numbering. Yay!!! At first my comments were only numbering ones. I switch-copy-&-paste and switch-copy-&-paste! I was getting pretty frustrated! On my original post about the numbering from Kathydid & Kid I actually left it in the edit section. Maybe that's why I couldn't get it to work properly. Anyways, Sweet 'n' Sassy Girls has another link to Quite Random where he shows how to number the comments. It seems all the copying was the same as Kathydid but I don't know why it works now! I left out the style='clear: both;' d/t others commenting about it. She also has other great links to different tutorials. I'll have to see about doing the 3columns template! Maybe soon but not now.
I'm exhausted already this mid-morning. Bubbie had a major meltdown! He wanted to play the Wii but it wasn't working correctly. He didn't understand he couldn't play with it. He kept saying "I want play game!" and SCREAMING and CRYING....Luckily I just had to deal with him since Baby Girl was taking her morning nap. Thank goodness she still naps!

I had a chance to review the PŪR Flavor Options pitcher. I'm the main shopper in the family. I usually just buy soymilk and juice for the kids. The juice is usually half-strength when they drink it! We occasionally buy sodas when there's a birthday coming! (Dad would buy his diet soda and, of course, the kids would want it, if it's in their line of vision.)
So when we received the PŪR Flavor Options pitcher, Bubbie anxiously waited while I read the directions and cleaned it out. (Sissy was in school. Baby Girl didn't know what was going on!) Bubbie smiled and said "Yum" and wanted more when he had a taste of it! Baby Girl just drank her cup. And that's an approval from her! Easy to operate unless you asked my DH! He couldn't get the flavor out or filled the pitcher up correctly. Of course, if you give him anything electronic, he would've read the directions! The gray top lid opens up for the flavor cartridge. Make sure the clear button is pressed after adding the cartridge. I did forget to do that when Sissy came home and wanted to try the grape flavor! Easy to switch out. Keep the lid to replace the cartridge when not in use. Press and hold the blue button when pouring the PŪR pitcher. Enjoy! DH said "It's pretty good for water."
If you don't want the flavor, you just have to pour the PŪR pitcher without holding the blue button. In the middle of the PŪR pitcher is the filter. The PŪR filtration system "remove 98% of lead and 97% of chlorine" and "reduces contaminants in the water while leaving fluoride, which is essential for developing and maintaining healthy teeth in children and adults, and has been granted the American Dental Assoc (ADA) Seal of Approval."
You can save about hundreds per year instead of buying bottled water. That's replacing thousand of plastic bottles per year. "Only 23% of plastic water bottles" are being recycled. So billions of water bottles are being thrown away! Luckily, our city started recycling plastics #1 through #7 :) instead of just the standard #1 and #2. I still don't buy bottled water unless I forget the kids sippy cup or Sissy "dying of thirst".

It took me forever to do this this! Well, maybe a few hours but it seems like an eternity due to lack for sleep. And a headache to top it off! I've messed around with it yesterday's morning but couldn't get it figure out. Finally, it worked! I've actually used 2 different blogs to make my button work. Thanks for My Four Monkey and Full Nest to redirecting me to the button tutorials.
For my pix I've used Sissy creation from kindergarten. I downloaded from my computer to Photobucket.
I used the simple code from Jenieshell's Design Challenge.
I used the grab code from Mommy's Idea (My image from here was enormous! So I only used the bottom half.)

I forgot. Sissy even missed the bus. The bus that picks her up RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE!!! It's only been a week and we missed the bus already. Reminded her to put her socks and shoes on. Reminded her to go watch the bus. Reminded her. Reminded her. As she was saying goodbye, the bus stopped briefly and went by. Did no one wait for the bus this morning? Off it went!
Got the sleep-deprived Baby Girl up and off we drove to school. At least Baby Girl wasn't cranky. Off we went to drop Sissy to school. Bubbie was already awake and watching 'toon. He didn't mind a trip to school.
One good thing is Sissy has been getting up when DH wakes up her. Last year I found her still in bed or she would huddle in the middle of her closet, doing nothing. So that's one improvement!
Oh My Goodness!!! We, Baby Girl and I, had a rough night.
It's been a long time since Baby Girl woke up after going to bed. She started crying out just as I was getting ready to go to bed myself :(, around 11:30p. Usually, she would whine quietly and go back to sleep.
Last night she kept crying, so I went in to check on her. She was fine. Cuddled a little and placed her back in her crib. The second time she did that I gave her some motrin since I did go to the doc for her 15month check-up. She got 2 shots. That didn't work. Tried having her lay in bed with us. She didn't like that either. (DH asleep or didn't want to deal with it! Either way he didn't seem to budge when I ask him to check the baby.)
She probably was wide awake after multiple attempts to get her to sleep. She wanted to play for the NIGHT. I even tried milk but she didn't want it. Finally, I lay on her floor with the lights off. She walked out of her room but came back in, since all the lights were off in the house and everyone was asleep. She laid down for a little but was getting restless. It's now around 2:30a. Placed her down on her crib. SILENCE! That's a lovely sound :) Finally to bed for me! Hope your night was better.
What better way to start the new school year is to do a giveaway. Tomorrow will be Sissy 1st half-day to 2nd grade! This is what I need. I have a niece and nephew birthday coming up this Saturday & Sunday! They'll He'll be seeing an ecard from me. (I didn't have dear niece email to do this.) Mama Kenz is the first few blogs that I actually followed when I started this blog. Even Bubbie woke up a few times with bleedy noses. Luckily, no major bleeding so far. We had a few head bumps, though. No more holding pressure for the bleeding. And no pulling it off like bandages or tapes!!

If you are pumping breastmilk, the instruction says to consult your doctor with the use of breastmilk. I know that breastmilk is not supposed to be warmed at a very hot temperature. It will destroy the lipase enzyme that breaks down milk fats. La Leche League International talks a little about it under "How to Warm the Milk". I couldn't find exactly what fresh breastmilk temperature was but I know that normal body temperature is 98.6° F.
